Reduce food waste at home and save R$1 million!
Almost one-third of the food we buy ends up in the trash, generating an impact for both the environment and your pocket.
The average Brazilian family wastes almost one-third of the food it buys. This means that a family that spends an average of R$650* a month on food ‘throws away’ more than R$ 180 per month, or 5% of its monthly budget.
If this family reduced food waste by half, it would save R$91.20 a month, or almost R$1,095 a year.
If this money was deposited in a savings account with an annual interest rate of 6%, the family would have over R$1 million after 70 years!
